Do not leave alcohol near your pumpkins... :P

Ok, so tonight is the October 30th - tomorrow is Halloween. I know my American folks have "Trick or Treat Night" tonight, but we in Europe have it tomorrow.
And you now guess what?! Nobody here wants to dress up :( My brother as well as my sister think they are too old this year - because here it is not a huge tradition. All my friends are to old, too. And little Anna really would like to have some fun. So, what am I gonna do? Probably I will sit at home with a huge amount of sweets. Then I will wait for all these cute little kiddos to come to our house and scare them to death *gg* - no, I hope they will do THEIR very best to scare me. Yeah, and then I will get out my lovely Chili-Jellybears again. Muahahaha. Of course they will also get some nice sweets, but they will have to taste the Jellies. That's really fun - for everybody. I promise. At least is was last year.
Just in case I find somebody to have fun with me, I will probably get out my huge black skirt plus a feathery pillow. The pillow will get stuffed in my back and it will look REALLY funny.
At this point I really want to say hey to Luisa and Meri and remind them of our last Halloween we spent together - when Nadine was this awesome witch!
I really would love to see some photos from American Halloween - so if you did some funny things TONIGHT just take a picture. I will take some tomorrow, too and post them here.
Not regarding the "Halloween Malheurs" everythings OK here in Germany. I have to say that University is fun. I really like all the stuff I am learning and doing. I hope I will be smart enough to do it :)
Well everybody. Thank you for reading this little Blog!
Kate - thank you for Co-Writing.
Josh - why don't you accept my invitation??

Big hugs to everyone!!

University

A friendly Hello to everyone!

Ok, last BLOG was some days ago. But finally my life just starts to get normal again - and I am really happy about that.
Well. I started studying Chemistry here in Rostock as you know. And it is wonderful. Just wonderful. Ok, I must admit, it is a whole lot of work, too. Lectures, homework, protocolls/logs, drinving around... but it is just a normal craze. I like it.
Now I am waiting for the first marks to come... then the first tests and exams. It will be hard - there is a big difference between school and University but actually the work is the same in the end.
Ok, if you study chemistry, you don't only have chemistry lessons but also mathmatics and physics which is fun, too. The lectures there are very intense and much more komplex, because they are "only" sub-subjects. But without them every chemist would be nothing.

To make my new-old live complete again I restarted with my dancing lessons. It is fun! Also I am thinking of taking a Russian course at university or at our "Volkshochschule". I really feel like learning another language and I am not sure between Spanish and Russian. But Russian is the harder one (for me) - so I will start with that probably. Kai can teach me a lot of Spanish anyway - when he is back!

I really would like to post some pictures here, but I didn't take any the last two weeks. I will catch up with that - I promise.

On November 15th I will take my plane back to America. I am really looking forward to meet everyone again.
Sarah - be prepared and make sure Mark and Bailey are there, too!
Beth - I will visit you, too (I also may talk to Duane...) - let's have lunch together one day!
Franzi - lass uns so viel Kram wie möglich in einen Koffen quetschen !!
Ami and Steve - Just be prepared :P
I am staying until December 7th.

That's all for now, I will try to write more frequently from now on!

How I got home...

I decided to write in english from now on, because now my American parents and friends may be interested in what I am doing...
First I want to write about may funny layover in Washington DC on my way back home. I missed my plane to Frankfurth because we left much too late in Detroit, so United Airlines was so kind to sponsor a nice night in a hotel in DC. We - that means Rainer, Melanie and me - got to know each other very well because we shared the same destiny. The next plane to Frankfurth left about 24 h after the first one. So we decided after getting up early to spend a nice day looking and the White House, the Capital Building or the Lincoln Memorial. All in all a funny thing.

Well, I "restarted" life here. I think next week university will start. I am really glad that I was able to sign in. I think it will be really nice to learn a lot more about what really interests me. I am thinking about a little job in a lab close to Kais house. Maybe I will earn good money there to be able to study somewhere else next year!
I really miss my American experiences and it was a great time. I am looking forward to November - I'll be back! :)
Have a nice week everyone!
Hugs,
Annemarie
